June 14, 2004 was a momentous occasion for our family: It was the day we opened our doors and began serving our Park City community.
Do the math: We turned 14 in June 2018!
When we first opened, locals and tourists started trickling in. They knew of us from our previous work at a local alterations shop that closed in 2004.
But it wasn’t long before word spread and projects began pouring in from people near and far!
Over the past 14(!) years we’ve had the privilege of working on some very special projects, including:
- Olympic team uniforms
- Bridal gowns of all kinds and for almost every kind of celebration imaginable
- Of note are the countless times we’ve had to fix the mistakes our competitors make on our brides’ dresses, making us, in their words, “miracle workers” and “lifesavers”!
- Prom dresses
- Tuxes and suits
- Bridal party dresses and pieces
- TV and movie actors’ clothes
- School uniforms for students all over the valley
- Home decor–incl. pillows and drapes
- Equestrian blankets
- Movie costumes
- Multinational company uniforms and branded apparel
- Hospital curtains
- Snow outfits
- (By now you’re probably wondering: What haven’t we done?)
We also worked on our son-in-law’s wedding suit and our daughter’s wedding dress, and even custom-made her bolero jacket and veil!
Modesty aside, our quality, precision, and attention to detail soon turned us into Park City’s–and Summit County’s and Wasatch County’s–#1 alterations shop, a title we cherish. I think by now we may be the top in other counties as well :).
(Some clients travel to Park City just to have us work on their projects!)
And now we’re even more excited to begin this new year in business in a brand new location in Park City that’s more convenient and closer to everything local our customers value.
In April of this year, we moved to Suite 211 of 1912 Sidewinder Dr. (that’s the Bellemarc Building) near Downtown Park City. We don’t have words to express how much more we enjoy this new location–primarily because YOU’ve expressed how much more you like it as well!
Since our launch, we’ve also been volunteering with nearby jails and helping inmates develop life skills to give them a shot at life once they’re out and reduce recidivism with our proprietary life skills classes. Our organization, Learning from The Inside, has seen tremendous growth over the years and our modules are in the process of being adopted at more jail systems throughout the state and country. As the sole developers of these classes, we’re proud to stand behind our work and guarantee that if we didn’t launch the program at a particular jail, it’s not a genuine Learning from The Inside Life Skills Class.
The wellbeing of animals is another very important cause to our family. Earlier this year we launched A Home for My Best Friend to help rescue, support, and foster kittens in Bucaramanga, Colombia, where animal adoption is still not as common as it should be. Our makeshift shelter is currently located at a local park and the kittens are taken care of by volunteers. We provide funds for their food and care, and their vet appointments. This way they’re all ready for when they meet their forever families. Overtime we aim to grow to a full-size facility where we can provide even more assistance to these precious animals.
To say we’re involved in our community would be an understatement, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Join us as we continue our mission to improve lives one seam at a time!
Happy 14th to us and thank YOU ALL for taking us to the top!
